BLACK HISTORY MONTH IN SAN FRANCISCO

At the beginning of this Black History Month, we had the honor of bringing Black & White's "Friendship in Song" concert to St. Dominic's Parish in San Francisco.  It was a powerful evening of sharing our faith and song -- spirituals, chants, show tunes -- all in St. Dominic's wondrous neo-gothic sanctuary.  People of all races, especially black and white, have sung and broken bread together there for decades.  May the spirit that has kept that community alive for over a century continue to breathe and sing there and everywhere.

The Dominican Family of men and women was founded by St. Dominic in the 13th century to contemplate God's love and truth in Christ and to share with others the fruits of that contemplation.

Black & White is John Paul Forte and Dominic DeLay, friars and priests of the Western Dominican Province. They met as first-year Dominicans in 1985 and have been singing together ever since.
