Mud Puddle Films' Dominic DeLay has released a new music CD with his Black & White singing partner John Paul Forté. Maintain the Light features a variety of musical styles and includes the singing friars’ trademark narration. “We want to draw the listener into a journey of deepening and enlightened faith expression,” says Forté. Or, as their liner notes put it, they want to “take you on a journey of cultures and people meeting each other and creating lasting friendships that change the world.”
Fathers Forté and DeLay have been singing together since their early years as Dominican student brothers. Says Forté, “With the creation of our new album, we wanted to allow the deep friendship we celebrated in our first album to mingle with the history and spiritually of our Dominican roots.” Maintain the Light is comprised of original songs based on scripture and Dominican tradition. “We hope to raise questions that help people to seek God and truth and to take the light of this encounter into the world,” says DeLay.
